curriculum is here!
We are now booking for 2003.
We are able to offer trainings to only 200 educators this
spring so book
your workshop soon.

The updated curriculum will feature:

Things to know about FIFE:
- Fire in Florida's Ecosystems is a FREE educator
training and
includes FREE materials!
- It is sponsored by the Florida Division of Forestry
- It teaches about fire ecology and prescribed burning
- It is for grades 3-12, all subjects
- For educators of all types: teachers, park staff, nature
centers,
camp counselors, park volunteers, Scout leaders,
etc.
The FIFE package of materials includes:
- An instructor's notebook complete with activities,
resources, and
background information
- Videos about fire
- Posters about fire
- The Burning Issues interactive CD-ROM
- Brochures and booklets on fire
A typical FIFE training includes:
- Background information on fire ecology and prescribed
burning
- Modeling of several activities from the curriculum
- A visit and presentation from a FL Division of Forestry
representative
- A field trip to a fire-maintained natural area
Fire in Florida's Ecosystems:
· Teaches about fire ecology and prescribed burning
